What this service covers
If you do not mind doing a little lifting and simply want the material gone, this is comfortably the cheapest route we offer. We park a trailer by your door, you fill it at whatever pace suits you, you call when it is full, and we haul it away. There is no skip permit to arrange, no truck to hire and no weekend spent driving back and forth to the transfer station.
The trailer fee is flat: $150 for a 4′×4′ and $250 for an 8′×4′. On top of that you cover the actual disposal fees the receiving facility charges us, plus a 10% surcharge. We show you those figures rather than folding them into a number you cannot check.
- 4′×4′ trailer — $150
- 8′×4′ trailer — $250
- Load at your own pace
- Disposal fees at cost plus 10%
How the disposal side actually works
Before you book, review the published fee schedule at the WLSSD Materials Recovery Center. Those are the rates we pay to dispose of what we collect from you, and they are what you reimburse, plus 10%.
One detail catches people out, so it is worth stating plainly: we do not qualify for the "one free per day" allowances that apply to private residents. WLSSD lets a household recycle one microwave free per day and charges for each one after that. Yours will not be the only microwave on our trailer that day, so it will not be free. The same logic applies to every per-item allowance in the schedule.
What this arrangement buys you is visibility. A full-service haul folds labour, transport and disposal into one number. Here you can see exactly which portion is the trailer, which is the tipping fee, and decide for yourself whether an item is worth taking.

Where the savings come from
You are paying for transport and disposal only. On a mixed garage clear-out that would run several hundred dollars as a full-service job, households routinely save 40 to 60 percent by loading the trailer themselves over a weekend.
Get more into the same trailer
Trailer space is the constraint, so packing discipline translates directly into money saved.
Break down anything hollow
Dismantle furniture, collapse boxes and remove drawers. A hollow dresser occupies four times the volume of the same dresser flat-packed against the wall of the trailer.
Load heavy and flat first
Appliances and dense material go against the front wall and floor. Light and awkward items fill the gaps above. Loading in arrival order rather than by density wastes a third of the space.
Keep scrap metal separate
Clean metal is often worth more at a scrap yard than it costs to tip. Setting it aside in one corner lets us route it separately and keeps it off your disposal bill.
Keep hazardous material out
Paint, solvents, oil, propane and pesticides cannot ride on the trailer. If they appear in the load we have to sort them out on arrival, which costs time neither of us wants to pay for.
